England Lionesses squad for 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup announced

Sarina Wiegman names 23-player squad for Australia and New Zealand tournament

Sarina Wiegman has named the 23-player England squad for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

The Lionesses, who are ranked fourth in the world, will be looking to improve on their semi-final finish at the last World Cup in France.

Wiegman's squad includes several players who were part of the team that won the UEFA Women's EURO 2022, including captain Leah Williamson, Millie Bright, and Ella Toone.

The full squad is as follows:

  • Goalkeepers: Mary Earps (Manchester United), Ellie Roebuck (Manchester City), Hannah Hampton (Aston Villa)
  • Defenders: Lucy Bronze (Barcelona), Niamh Charles (Chelsea), Millie Bright (Chelsea), Alex Greenwood (Manchester City), Demi Stokes (Manchester City), Niamh Charles (Chelsea), Alex Greenwood (Manchester City), Lotte Wubben-Moy (Arsenal)

England will begin their World Cup campaign against Haiti on July 22.
