Biles Tops Senior Field, Freshmen Lead Juniors on Day 1 of Xfinity US Gymnastics Championships

Fort Worth, Texas - May 31, 2024

Four-time Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles leads the senior women's field, while several freshmen stand out among the junior competitors on the opening day of the 2024 Xfinity US Gymnastics Championships at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.

Biles, who is competing in her first major competition since the Tokyo Olympics, posted the top all-around score of 58.450. The 25-year-old Houston native showed no signs of rust, despite a long layoff from competition. She was particularly impressive on the balance beam, where she earned a score of 15.250.

Following Biles in the all-around standings are Jade Carey (56.750), Jordan Chiles (55.750), and Shilese Jones (55.350). Carey, the reigning Olympic floor exercise champion, won the vault title with a score of 15.100. Chiles, the 2021 world all-around bronze medalist, was the runner-up on the uneven bars with a score of 14.800.

Among the junior women, several freshmen made a strong impression on the first day of competition. Kaliya Lincoln of Hill's Gymnastics led the way with an all-around score of 55.950, followed by Konnor McClain of WOGA Gymnastics (55.450) and Addison Fatta of Buckeye Gymnastics (54.950).

The 2024 Xfinity US Gymnastics Championships will continue on Friday with the junior men's and senior women's all-around finals. The competition will conclude on Saturday with the junior women's and senior men's individual event finals. All sessions will be streamed live on the USA Gymnastics YouTube Channel.
